What if we don’t know anything about fishing?

This is no problem whatsoever, by the end of the trip you will know much more than you did when you stepped on the boat. I will guide you through each step and ensure you feel comfortable with the fishing process. I have a comprehensive knowledge about the area and will give you a more localized lesson in reading the water, assembling a rod, lure selection, and finding the best local areas to fish.

What do you provide?

We will provide everything you need for your trip including: fishing licenses, the top fishing gear in the industry, fuel, bait, ice, and bottled water. All you have to do is show up on time, bring your own food/drinks, wear a bathing suit/bring towel (if you want to get in the water), and be ready to have a good time. There is no need for a cooler to bring on the boat, as there is plenty of storage for ice/drinks/food on the boat itself. If you are planning to keep some fish then bring a cooler to keep in your car for when we get back to the ramp. I will provide any of the fish cleaning that is required to take your catch home unless you prefer to do it yourself. Also if you would like to bring your own rod or rods just let me know so that I can account for then when prepping for the trip.

What is the most common fishing charter?

The most common fishing charters in Wilmington are inshore fishing charters. An inshore fishing charter generally ranges from 4-8 hours long and we can accommodate up to 6 anglers. On these trips you will have your shot on a variety of inshore and nearshore species. Here in Wilmington we do have a year round fishery so there is always a fish to go out there and target.Everyone that we take out on a fishing charter gets to experience the beauty of the inshore and nearshore waters here in the Wilmington area. Many people see the marsh from the outside, riding down the intracoastal waterway. To us the real beauty of this place resides within the winding curves of the creeks deep within the marsh or in the open shallow bays. Many people never get to experience this hidden beauty. When fishing in these areas it is not uncommon to see an abundance of wildlife like see sea turtles, dolphins and stingrays while we target species that include Red Drum, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder and Sheepshead, Cobia, False Albacore, Tautog, Sharks & Tarpon.

How late can we book a trip?

It is never too late to call and check. While availability does fill up fast in peak seasons, we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Call or text us soon and secure your spot!

Can we keep our catch?

Of course you can! That being said, I do endorse conservation efforts and just ask that whatever you keep is not going to sit in the freezer for months and then be thrown out. A motto that I like to go by is keep what you are going to eat that night or the following day. Fish conservation helps to keep the sport of fishing alive. It also helps to maintain the balance of ecosystems in our local area. Fish are very important to the planet and fish conservation helps to maintain nature’s balance.

What will we catch?

This is very season dependent, but the inshore species we target include Red Drum, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder and Sheepshead. Red Drum are here all year long but certain times of year they can either be spread out of very schooled up. The bigger schools of Red Drum are generally in the Fall, Winter and Spring time while in the warmer months those schools begin to break up spread out within the marsh. Speckled Trout as most prevalent in the Falls Months. Sheepshead and Flounder as generally here in the most numbers in the summer months. For Nearshore it is also season dependent but the species include Red Drum, False Albacore, Cobia, Tarpon, Bull Redfish, Sheepshead, Tautog, Flounder and a whole host of other species.

Meet Your Master Captain, Cameron Pappas.

I was born and raised on the coast of Wilmington, NC and have always enjoyed being on the water as much as possible. Having the ocean and the marsh so close by throughout my life has made for A LOT of time spent outdoors.

Fishing has always been a part of my life from a very young age but mainly revolved around offshore fishing and the occasional trip out West for trout. When I stumbled upon inshore and nearshore fishing I realized what I was missing out on and became fully invested.

What I love about these areas of fishing is that they are challenging but also extremely rewarding. There is a science to it that has always kept me eager to continue to learn as much as possible.

There are many variables when it comes to fishing such as the season, being able to predict where the fish will be on a given tide, water temperature, weather, etc. All of these are parts of an equation that keeps me coming back for more...
